The Manager of Engineering is responsible for the planning and direction in all aspects of engineering activities and projects while leading and managing the Engineering Department and related projects.


This person will be transforming our project/product focused engineering department into a comprehensive engineering function that provides product engineering and operational engineering.


This role requires mastery of both manufacturing practices (and their optimization) and product engineering support. This role requires significant manufacturing and engineering leadership experience, strong management skills with the ability to build exceptional teams from scratch, and the ability/passionate drive to transform our engineering department.



  • Leads departmental development and operations in accordance with the organization's goals, policies, and applicable laws.

  • Ensures all engineering projects, initiatives, and processes are in conformance with organization's established policies and objectives.

  • Manages all aspects of maintaining an exceptional manufacturing environment (equipment up-time, manufacturing floor enhancement and design, equipment selection and implementation, equipment and process optimization, etc.)

  • Utilizes best practice engineering methods and provides expert technical guidance for engineering initiatives.

  • Ownership of ongoing support to develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods, applying continual improvement principles to ensure customer satisfaction.

  • Directs and performs product and process development including support of RFQ, Purchase Order review and translation of customer requirements into job orders.

  • Incorporates components, materials, and tools that result in cost-effective and quality output. Manages overall engineering budget and costs.

  • Confer with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluate products according to specifications and quality standards.

  • Model appropriate leadership behavior and have a comprehensive knowledge of the overall departmental function.

  • Develops major goals to support broad functional objectives. Approves policies developed within various sub-functions and departments.

  • Understand and follow Quality Policy, System Procedures and Operations Manuals.

  • Enforce a safe working environment by actively intervening to correct recognized unsafe actions and conditions.

  • Bachelor level engineering degree is required.

  • Ten plus years experience in a manufacturing environment and as well as 5-6 years managerial/supervisorial experience over engineering functions is required..

  • Candidate must be experienced in developing exceptional manufacturing capabilities and supporting product engineering for complex manufacturing environments including processes, tools, manufacturing floor design, equipment design and implementation, equipment maintenance and up-time, complex product engineering (sales/estimation and operational), and supervisor/management development.
