IT Engineer, Emulation Support
This position is a combination of hands-on day-to-day fixing and troubleshooting and possibly some higher-level planning and coding. The successful candidate will be flexible, able to multitask and customer-driven. This is a sustaining role: monitoring devices, performing documented procedures, troubleshooting, escorting vendors, interfacing with shipping and receiving. 4 - 8 years industry experience, ideally in technology, biotech, engineering or similar fields. Specific skills and experience to include: * Enterprise Linux administration and troubleshooting (RHEL/SLES) * Hands on experience with VMware ESXi and/or KVM systems * Write/debug scripts in a common language (Bash/Perl/Python/etc) * Enterprise PC desktop/server hardware (HP) troubleshooting and support * Working with rack-mounted equipment, cabling, KVMs, etc.
* Able to lift 25 pounds (to install servers and related equipment) * Web development abilities (HTML, Java, PHP, MySQL, etc.). * Windows 8/10 administration and troubleshooting * TCP/IP networking with NFS/CIFS/LDAP * Electronics lab experience helpful
Preferred: Bachelor's, A+/RHCP/MCP a plus
Hiring Manager Comments:
Ideal candidates will have solid skills/experience with Linux (any flavor), basic understanding of network infrastructure. This position will be supporting a remote team that is running custom hardware using Linux. Success in this role will depend on the individual’s ability to troubleshoot problems with Linux platforms. 1st round interview will be on the phone; followed by 2nd round onsite or video interview for non-locals.
